Musings: Salt 'n' pepper

Those individual serving packets of salt always hold enough grains to choke a large mammal (about four times as much as I can stomach); yet the twin packets of pepper hold barely enough to cover one egg (and many packets are empty).

THANK YOU! And the doctors keep telling us that salt is bad, but the pepper may do some good. I don't salt my food, and when I get "fries with that", I like to put pepper on them. The packets are a joke.

This is an issue that Congress should address. I doubt anything less than federal action will correct it. It is a matter of interstate condiment, er, commerce. I don't want to wonder as I travel from state to state whether or not I will be in a big-pepper state or a mini-pepper state. I say Equal Pepper for All Citizens, All the Time, Everywhere!

Surely people who can wangle over sugar and milk subsidies can give this some time.

I was disappointed not to hear anything in the SOTU about it.
